The big boys are slowly peeling off the pack Charl Jonck is still on track to defend the BPL Knockout title, in fact he is going for double-double. If you remember very well, Charl was crowned the inaugural BPL champion and he went on to win the Knockout competition. Last year Yulan won the league title but Charl still managed to defend the Knockout title. Is there anybody out there who thinks that the Assassin will win it for the third time in a row? According to Sylvester Henry (Gracious in defeat) Charl was brilliant, phenomenal and a marvel to watch. In his own words Sly said: “Charl is truly in a class of his own, he obliterates you on the table and he does so with a smile. You can’t help but to be in awe of one of the games true gentleman. It’s easy to see, why he has dominated this event. If he continues in this manner, it is truly hard to see anyone dethroning the King of the BPL SHOWDOWN” well I will say no more. Charl will now have to deal with a very calm customer, this gentleman has Aden joseph’s number and he just dialed it again. Nsovo might become the toast of the tournament if he dethrones the Assassin, taking out Aden was not such an easy task but Nsovo was always the favourite to win it based on the history between the two. Yulan did very well to come back from the dead and outmuscle Deon who was the better player for most of the game. The special one took the first set and looked to be running away with it but Hawkeye made one again showed why he is regarded by many as the best there ever was. Moley will now have to revenge Paul’s loss to Rushin Bowers in the last 8. The Hammer played very well to thwart the Gentleman but maybe Yulan might be a mammoth’s task. Ace saw off Nicky as expected but he will now have to face his worst nightmare in the history of the BPL. Ace has never won against Sbu and this is just looking at the three year history of the league. Sbu had a procedural win over Azim but Ace will be the true blue litmus test to determine the acidity level in his chilies brand. Keegan and Kyle will meet to conclude the fixture list in the last 8, this after they both won their respective matches 2-1. Keegan took care of Kevin whereas Kyle ended Thami’s participation in the tournament. THE BPL NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!!
